Celebrate Winterfest!
Winterfest in Pigeon Forge is the special time when the area comes ablaze with tens of millions of holiday lights, and the festive cheer is everywhere. This festive season begins in early November and carries into mid-February, with events, activities and entertainments that make the best of the holidays and the unique winter opportunities.
Pigeon Forge has a lot of theaters, and the Christmas programs and special shows come alive during Winterfest. Millions of lights and animated displays appear all over town and in the local attractions. Take the self-driving tour of the lights, walk along the Wonders of Light trail, or take a helicopter ride to view all the lights from above. Or let some funny comedians take you on the Redneck Bus tour of the lights!
Gatlinburg lights up all across town too with many millions of lights, and the mountaintop attractions of Anakeesta, SkyPark and of course the ski resort of Ober Mountain all provide stunning overlooks to admire them. Dollywood has millions of its own lights, as well as fireworks and entertaining shows, and Shadrack's Winter Wonderland offers a light show that you can drive through in the warmth of your car.
Thanksgiving and Christmas feature large among the stars of the Winterfest season, of course, with Arts & Crafts shows and unique gift-buying opportunities, live music everywhere - including the Christmas Bluegrass festival - feasting in the restaurants, treats for the kids and wine tours for the grown-ups.
