Less than 3 miles from Pigeon Forge, and reached via Wears Valley Road, Bear Creek Crossing Resort is a scenic, gated community with good roads, and hosting many cabins set in the foothills of Bluff Mountain. It sprawls enough to have three entrances, so ask us for advice on your best shortcut when you book your cabin.

The resort's main entrance is strikingly landscaped, with an outdoor swimming pool open seasonally, and an indoor pool next to it in the pool house, which is open year round and heated in colder weather. To one side of the outdoor pool lies a 9-hole mini-golf course and putting green, lighted at night so guests can use it at any time. To the other side of the pool, a landscaped set of waterfalls cascade 65 feet down the mountain rock face, offering an attractive setting for selfies and wedding groups.

The Main lodge next to this fun setting is a popular wedding and reception venue, equipped for either or both events. It hosts a scenic covered bridge (more photos!) and spaces for two travel trailers in back. The cabins are spread out such that you'll probably have to drive from your cabin to this central facility, but the roads are quite easy (no mountain switchbacks), wide and well maintained - the privacy of your individual cabin is worth the spacing between lots.

The proximity to Pigeon Forge and the good roads in the resort area mean driving should be simple with any vehicle. But while four-wheel drive is not needed in this resort, cell phone service may not exist, although cabins should have Wi-Fi. Always check all your amenities as you select your cabin.
