New Year’s Eve 2015 in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge

It’s New Year’s Eve as 2015 turns into 2016, and Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are getting ready to light up the Smoky Mountains with huge fireworks shows – and both events are FREE.

For the 28th year, the Ball Drop & Fireworks at the Space Needle in Gatlinburg attracts a super-friendly gathering, estimated at close to 50,000 people this year, in one of the largest organized New Year’s events in America. (more…)

The Lights Go On in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge

Gatlinburg-lights-300x223It’s Winterfest 2015 in the Smoky Mountains as Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Dollywood all turn on their millions of Christmas lights for the festive holiday season.

The 16th Annual Smoky Mountain Fall Trout Tournament happens this weekend on September 26 and 27, 2015. Over 20 miles of premium fishing streams and waters are stocked with thousands of trout again for this ever popular event.

It’s the largest fishing tournament in the Smoky Mountains, and meanders throughout the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Great Smoky Mountains National Park area. Several hundred entrants will compete – or maybe just calmly fish – in the event.

16th Annual Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival 2015

The 2015, 16th Annual Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival starts Thursday for 3 days, September 17-19. This festival is one of the nicest you’ll ever attend, with a crowd of around 3,000, highly acclaimed talent performing, and a camper village that adds to some amazing jamming between shows.
