If you agree that bluegrass is the sweetest music ever invented, then you need to be in Pigeon Forge over the next few days.The 2015 Christmas in the Smokies Bluegrass Festival is happening at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, December 9-12. Tickets available at the door.
Headlined again by the driving force behind the festival, acclaimed musician – and 2015 Female Traditional Vocalist of the Year – Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road, her hugely talented band, the festival presents a hard driving, high-energy experience with a host of notable performers.

Fall must be coming because Pigeon Forge has caught the muscle car fever again. The 2015, 33rd Annual Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup happens again this Friday and Saturday, September 11-12, at Dollywood’s Splash Country. It’s a family-fun affair with no alcohol, indoor restrooms, and a huge parking lot filled with amazing cars on display, none of which is newer than 1972 – sorry friend, you’ll have to park that new Caddy somewhere else!
Parking is plentiful at Splash Country for $12 – or you can park for free in downtown Pigeon Forge and take the trolley out for 50 cents. The show is open 8 am to 5 pm each day, and on Saturday the judging and awards start at 4:30pm. This is where a ’32 Ford Hi-Boy Roadster is given as the first prize, followed by $10,000 as 2nd prize! Here’s a great cabin in a great location in the Smoky Mountains. It’s Villa Pallazo, a 2-bedroom luxury rental cabin that sleeps up to 10 people. Located in Legacy Mountain Resort outside of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, this is one of our many Pigeon Forge cabins.
It’s a week-long patriotic celebration in Pigeon Forge August 24-30 as the 2015 Heroes Week rolls out a music festival and special evening shows at different venues. This culminates in the Saturday, August 29, Veterans Homecoming Parade, and the same weekend offers the annual Military & Relic Show, August 29-30.
Each year the organizers team up with a significant event or organization – last year it was the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall – and this year it hosts American Sniper Chris Kyle’s Guardians for Heroes Foundation.
The week starts with a 4-day music festival as the Christian Country Expo comes to town August 24-27. Monday night headliner is Marty Raybon, and the expo opens on Tuesday morning for day-long music showcases through the festival, along with evening shows. (more…)
The merry month of May gets a whole lot merrier this May Day, as Dolly Parton takes to the streets of Pigeon Forge to lead the 30th Annual Dolly Homecoming Parade, happening this Friday, May 1, 2015.
More than 50,000 people attend the Dolly Parade each year, and many of them come to catch a glimpse and photo shots of Tennessee’s favorite daughter, Dolly Parton herself. (more…)

The music, dance and costume of different cultures from around the world are represented in modern and electrifying ways, in unique performances by award-winning, literally world-class acts.

The last week in January marks the time of the 25th Annual Wilderness Wildlife Week. Based in LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, the massively popular event is also incredibly huge in scope. Lasting 8 days from Saturday, January 24, 2015 through Saturday, January 31, the event is totally FREE and open to all.
With literally hundreds of experts and talents in practically any field you can think of, conducting hundreds of classes, demonstrations, tours and performances through the week, it is simply impossible not to find something each day that enthralls you.
