Explore Gatlinburg with Free Trolley Service in 2016

Here in Gatlinburg, TN, we have more than just awesome sights, cool shopping, and nifty, family-centered attractions. We have a slam-dunk way to access all of it: by trolley bus.

Free trolley bus, that is…

Starting June 17 through August 14, Gatlinburg will be offering complimentary summer trolley service at all stops along Parkway, the city’s vibrant main strip. This is the sixth year Gatlinburg has offered the free service and, thus far, it’s the toast of the town. You’ll see these specially painted trolleys cruising up and down the thoroughfare carrying a mix of eager tourists and local residents.

Tunes & Tales 2016: Summer in Gatlinburg

One of the great fun activities in Gatlinburg is to stroll along Parkway, catching the numerous sights and attractions. Summer raises the fun level for evening strollers with the city’s annual Tunes & Tales street performances, starting this year on June 10 and running through July 30, 2016 – now the 11th year of this hugely popular event.

Beans and Cornbread Festival

Thursday evening in Gatlinburg promises Appalachian fun, LOTS of delicious food and live music as the annual Gatlinburg Beans and Cornbread Festival starts at 5 pm, May 12, 2016.

The event is sponsored by 100-year-old Bush Brothers & Company, a native Tennessee operation headquartered close by in Chestnut Hill, a mere 25 miles away from Gatlinburg.

2016 Spring Art Experience at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts

Gatlinburg’s internationally acclaimed Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is offering a chance to meet with history and learn new skills this weekend with its annual Spring Art Experience, held Thursday through Sunday, April 14-18, 2016.

The weekend program is a celebration of the school’s rich and long history, and includes 2 days of workshops in arts and crafts, a storytelling of the area’s history, Appalachian music, a wine tasting, and a Sunday brunch with a special program featuring this year’s artists in residence.

Wine Fest 2016 at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts

Is wine-making an art or a craft? Vintners will tell you it’s both, and Smoky Mountain wine country mingles with the arts crowd this weekend in two events.

The 4th Annual Wine Fest at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts happens Saturday, April 9, 1-6 pm. This highly successful event features the different wines of 17 local wineries, accompanied by culinary masterworks from local chefs as pairings. The school’s own art is on display in its own marvelous galleries.

Meanwhile, on Friday, April 8, the Arts & Crafts Community celebrates the opening day of its Hands-On Gatlinburg 3-day festival by welcoming the evening Wine, Dine and Art Crawl – more smartly known as The Wine Tour. The Tour offers a taste of hors d’oeuvres at each of three Gatlinburg wineries.

Oktoberfest 2015 and Winter is Coming

Oktoberfest could claim to be the first big party of the holiday season – there’s nothing like getting a start on things. You don’t have to tell them this at Ober Gatlinburg, where Oktoberfest 2015 gets underway on September 25 and will run through November 1.

Celebrating the German tradition, Ober Gatlinburg puts on a show with Bavarian food, beer, music, crazy dancing and fun.
